Happy B day Jane. You are getting older and better!

Getting older in numbers is not as bad as folks try to make it out to be

Oh, I need a lockbox for the tweezers, the Biore strips, the nail polish and remover, the list goes on…and that’s with just one girl.

Fortunately we don’t have the same taste in many things, like shaving cream/lotion; she loves the fruity smelly stuff. Yuk.

The boy has a nasty habit of snagging my cellophane tape, scissors, blank videotapes. And wipes.

I keep telling myself at some point in time I will miss the surprise of missing things.

If we had had girls, I think I would have had to bought a very large lockbox. I didn’t pay any attention to what tools or fishing gear were missing from the garage. Dad didn’t complain much that I remember but he is much more patient than most normal people.
The underwear drawer turned out to be genius. Any item whatsoever could be left in there. I realized then that we were pretty boring when we didn’t have anything more interesting than scissors to hide.

OMG, that deserved a spew alert!

I have to draw the line yet again on that one, no stainless steel cleaner wipes in my underwear drawer — among other things.

Can you even imagine the size of the underwear drawer I’d have to have? Cripes, I’ve had to hide my own personal toolbox from both kids and spouse, am picturing an underwear drawer which looks like a Craftsman tool cart with a lock! LOL!

Millineryman, Christy — the microfiber cloths work great on anything with a smooth surface, have saved a ton of money on paper towels for mirrors and glass cleaning. Plain water will work just fine on most light cleaning, just lightly moisten cloth and wring out well, then wipe. I use the window cleaner — a basic one, not the all-surface cleaner stuff — because the ammonia in the solution will cut grease, works best on greasy fingerprints left by cheese-eating, chip-and-popcorn-munching members of this household.

Vinegar-and-water solution kept in a spray bottle also works on my blonde maple floors; I have a dark microfiber cloth I use on a Swiffer-type mop, just spritz the floor, let soak a couple minutes, then wipe up with the microfiber-mop. Squeaky clean and not at all wet.

Harbor Freight is a good source for cloths if you have a store nearby; I just bought a four-pack of cloths for $3.99. I try to keep the cloths dedicated by color. Dark ones are used in my car on interior, light ones on glass.

And I keep one in my handbag for monitor wiping and eyeglass cleaning. The green one is hands-off to all family members because it’s mine for my purse. (They’ll thank me whenever they need their sunglasses cleaned…)

Looks like you and I are soul mates.
That said, I have a lot of cleaning to do. And, some flowers to put in the ground. I think I’ll run out to the gym and get myself going first.
See you all another time. It’s been swell.
