Friday Muppet Blogging

This production of "Swine Lake" starring ballet great Rudolph Nureyev and a rather rotund porcine partner is worth the price of the Muppet Show Season II DVD collection all by itself.

Honestly, we have watched this a bazillion times, and it never gets old.

Especially that moment where the dancing piggy swans out onto the stage.  The look on Nureyev’s face really does say it all.

And then some.

Each and every time, The Peanut collapses in a giggle fit.

Just awesome. Enjoy.

We always love Miss Piggy; she is such a sweetheart. Thanks

One of the great highlights of my week when I was in college was to sit down with a six-pack of beer with my Theology professor and watch the Muppets. It’s amazing how a few brews can enhance the enjoyment of highclass art.

Thanks Christy and Peanut. Nureyev is quite the actor, his facial expressions throughout are outstanding.

Oh, yes! Hee-hee!

Somehow I missed this, despite being a big fan of both the Muppets and Nureyev.
Great choice.

I had the equally awesome experience of seeing Nureyev perform live in Boston, twice, in the ’70’s. Don Quixote – absolutely spectacular leaping — and the other time, selections from famous ballets. I was swooning with delight.

Thanks Christy,

I look forward to this every week.
My twin grandkids giggle along with Peanut…
