Saturday Potluck

Its time for the weekly Saturday potluck. Kick off your shoes and relax a while.

What’s on your mind these days? Have something to share, a question to ask, or a bit of dish? Let’s hear it.

Consider this a bit of a catch-up thread.

And do feel free to share whatever you are having for dinner. We’re having leftovers from yesterday: baked potato soup and Irish soda bread. Nummy!

PS — Please also stop over and say howdy to Matt Miller for today’s Book Salon which I’m hosting.  Thanks!

I’ve become a big fan of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. Here and Here are a couple of my favorites. These are excellent musicians and entertainers.

I’m still processing photos I took during Mardi Gras. Once I’m done, I’ll post a link to a slide show.

Oh, please do! Would love to see them — have always wanted to see Mardi Gras in person.

Cooked a chicken breast earlier today so I could sammich it tonight. Very simple but tasty.

I think I should grow my own. Good thing we have Aunt Toby on “The Return of the Urban Chicken”

I actually cooked, rarely do I do that, and tried the Onion Soup recipe that was posted here….yummm. I have become fairly addicted to an Onion soup that Panera’s served, so about time to try it for myself. The recipe really is easy. I did not have all the ingredients ( dry mustard, etc), but made do. And even my lesser version was very nice. I wish I recall who made the contribution…maybe that person will speak up. It was great.

To Christy…when you start planning a MG…the thing that always interested me is the way the few days before…the weekend, etc. always seemed more fun that the real madness of the day itself. Plenty to see whenever.
