Oh, Karl? You Might Want To Keep Luskin On Retainer…

Well, isn’t THIS interesting:

A federal prosecutor investigating the dismissal of nine U.S. attorneys during the Bush administration has issued a subpoena to former senator Pete V. Domenici (R-N.M.) and is preparing to interview key witnesses, lawyers following the case say….

…she will interview former White House political affairs deputy J. Scott Jennings as early as today, lawyers involved in the case said. Jennings worked alongside Karl Rove, a top aide to President George W. Bush.

Jennings will "cooperate to the best of his ability" and is not a target in the case, lawyer Mark R. Paoletta said yesterday.

Through lawyer Robert D. Luskin, Rove also has said he will cooperate with Dannehy’s investigation. K. Lee Blalack, an attorney for Domenici, declined to comment.

In recent weeks, Dannehy has requested documents through a grand jury operating out of the federal courthouse in Washington….

"Lawyers following the case"? Are we back on the Luskin-go-round-leak-a-thon again? Or is this someone else with a score to settle?

Marcy had a few guesses on witnesses after Murray’s reporting the other day.  Personally, I’m intrigued by Scott Jennings’ potential, myself.  Funny how once you get outside the nest of vipers things don’t look so solid sometimes.

Popcorn, anyone…

Marcy’s got more

Dont you think that Rove must be deeply comforted by how W stood up for the AG? Sort of a “good by & good luck”, bon voyage, boy, as I recall….channeling W’s promise to fire anyone in his [honest] administration…..

I think we’re moving past the popcorn stage, Christy, and into the “lingering over a fine dinner with a nice bottle of wine” stage.

“Why yes, my good server, you can clear these plates, but we’re going to be a while here . . . why don’t you bring us another bottle of that delicious merlot?”

Could her calling in and deposing/interviewing associates of Rove, and others involved peripherally in the issue, assist in establishing that no Executive privileges exist in specific subject matter thus force Rove to testify or face contempt charges?

It looks like there was oodles of criminality by the W crowd. I don’t see why these are not slam dunk cases.

If they are… why are they not being prosecuted. If they aren’t, why aren’t they?

foothillsmike | Thursday February 12, 2009 05:24 pm 15

Christy, Hope you have had a good day. Wasn’t Dannehy put in charge of this investigation for a limited time? When does it expire? Can it be extended?

CTuttle | Thursday February 12, 2009 05:26 pm 16

What date is Rove supposed to appear before the House Jud. Comm.? What contingency plans do people think have been made should Rove not comply? Will Jennings live to see tomorrow?

Wasn’t he supposed to have met with Dannahy today?

This is going to be good, and the polls that the Rethugs have been spinning are actually in the 60 – 70% range of the public that supports investigation of the Bush thugs for torture, wiretapping, and the US Attorney scandal.

Ye Hahhhhhh!!!

Hi Christy…what a nice new place to visit….how long has this been here??

Love the news that there is action on the Attorney Gate!! Let them all
hang is my motto….The Dems have been backing down too much and need
to get more backbone!!

Will return to this nice new place!!
